07/06/2016

KABUL (SW): A member of the Hizb-e-Islami delegation said that Hizb-e-Islami led by Hikmatyar agreed upon all issues that are articulated in peace agreement, but they have included three new preconditions to it.

Talking to Salam Watandar, Eng. Gul Rahim Gulzai, a member at the executive committee of Hizb-e-Isalmi, said that his party and Afghan government have signed peace agreement, Hizb-e-Islami however has added three additional and non-binding preconditions to it.

To schedule the foreign forces’ withdrawal and changing the name of Unity Government into “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” are the two first conditions Hizb-e-Isalmi has included to its preconditions.

Mr. Gulzai stressed that the newly added conditions articulated in the agreement are likely to be amended.

Talking about Hikmatyar’s arrival in Kabul, he said that Hekmatyar will enter Kabul as soon as his name is removed from the UN and USA’s black list.

In the meantime, Ataulrahman Salim, the deputy for High Peace Council said that he knew nothing about the newly preconditions Hizb-e-Isalmi has set. He stated that so far, High Peace Council have not discussed on this three-agenda precondition.

Two months ago, High Peace Council brokered a peace agreement between Hizb-e-Isalmi and Afghan government. It is reportedly said that Hizb-e-Islami have agreed on peace treaty and its newly sent delegation have come to Kabul for continuing the negotiation.
