KABUL (SW): The Hezb-e-Hambastagi (Solidarity Party) on Thursday strongly condemned the peace deal signed with the Hezb-e-Islami.

Saylai Ghafar, the spokeswoman for the party told a protest gathering in the Shahr-e-Nau park that Gulbudin Hekmatyar, leader of the HI has committed gross human rights violations, and should be held accountable instead of allowing him to return to the political arena. She stressed that inking peace deal with the Hezb-e-Islami party would not help bring peace, and instead it would united the extremist forces to unite.

She charged that Hekmatyar has served as ‘CIA agent’, and the peace deal with him is disrespect to those who suffered because of him. “This peace deal provides a safe shelter for war criminal and traitor in Afghanistan”, she added.

Mursal Aman, a protestor told Salam Watandar that the government has no right to forgive Hekmatyar.”Only the people of Afghanistan can decide whether to forgive or put him on trial”, she added. The Solidarity Party also urged upon the citizens to oppose the peace agreement.
