KABUL (SW): Hameed Hassan and Mirwais Ashraf, two star players of the national cricket team are set for return after a long break due to injuries.
Mohammad Aziz, spokesman for the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), told Salam Watandar the players are back in Kabul, and busy in training sessions. He added the two players received medical treatment in India, and are now in good shape. Aziz stressed Hameed Hassan and Mirwais Ashraf would only be selected for the national squad after the two prove their fitness and form.
For the upcoming tour of West Indies, Aziz said the two players would be given chance to prove their worth in training and fitness sessions. The ACB spokesman stressed that all-rounder Mirwais and fast bowler Hameed are quite experienced and talented players, and their return would add value to the national team.
29-year-old Hameed Hassan sustained injuries in a match against England in 2012 while 28-year-old Mirwais Ashraf has been facing troubles with his hamstring injury for the past six months.
