Haj pilgrims complain about poor services

KABUL (SW) – This year's Haj pilgrims have complained about poor services provided to them in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Viral visuals of substandard food served to the pilgrims caused an uproar few days back. Some pilgrims criticized the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, saying that health, transportation and food services are at a very low level. According to them, due to the lack of vehicles, they sometimes have to wait hours under scorching sun.

Abdul Wase, one of the pilgrims, said that the medical center, which is dedicated to Afghan pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, prescribes every patient with antibiotic and sedative medication without paying serious attention.

However, Nasserudding Darez, head of information and communication at the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, said that the services are available to pilgrims, however, cultural differences have caused some problems for them. Few days back, the MoHRA had announced establishment of an independent coordination office to provide better services to Afghan pilgrims in the KSA.
