
JALALABAD (SW): The Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) has apprehended a six-member group of the Taliban militants, including a would-be suicide bomber in Nangarhar province.
According to the spy agency, the group was receiving direction from the Taliban’s Peshawar Shura to conduct terrorist activities in Afghanistan. Those arrested include Azizullah son of Syed Rehman, Rehmatullah son of Nek Mohammad, Nazakat son of Syed Iqrar, Noor Ali son of Nek Mohammad, Qari Zahid son of Hakim Khan and Taher son of Akbar Khan.
Meanwhile, a suicide car attack on the airport in Jalalabad city has left one security official dead and three others, including civilians, wounded.
Separately, Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said a pro-Daesh militant along with four explosive vests used for suicide attacks has been arrested in Bati Kot district. He said the militant wished to conduct a terrorist attack in Jalalabad city.
