KABUL (SW): A sudden surge in the prices of domestic gas has caused uproar as the government promised priced would be stabilized soon.
Official at the Ministry of Trade and Industries (MoTI) claims the government has imported enough Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to drive down the prices.
Musafir Qoqandi, spokesman for the MoTI told SW a slight delay in the shipment has caused the price hike. He blamed local retailers have exploited the market situation.
Qoqandi added that the strategic reserves can sustain the situation for as long as three months in case the supply stops in emergency situations. In Kabul, per kilo price for the domestic gas has soared from afn 35 to afn 50.
