KABUL (SW) – Presidential candidate, Abdul Lateef Pidram has suggested the government should join political groups to hold conclusive peace talks with the Taliban.
Addressing a press conference in Kabul, he said the Taliban are not willing to negotiate with the Afghan government led by President Ashraf Ghani. According to him, the Taliban see Ashraf Ghani's government as a ‘weak and puppet’, so they are not ready to talk to it.
He went on to say the final results of the presidential polls is not acceptable as the turnout was very low.
A number of other presidential candidates, including Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah have rejected the initial results of the polls that declared the incumbent President Ghani as the winner.
