KABUL (SW) – CEO Abdullah Abdullah has said if ground is paved, the government is ready to attend the forthcoming session of talks between the Taliban and the U.S.
He said this addressing a press conference on Saturday. The CEO said if the Taliban declined to hold comprehensive ceasefire and sit for direct talks with the government, their pledges of shunning ties to the terrorists and not posing threats of terrorism to the world from Afghanistan are not sufficient.
This comes following a report by Salam Watandar that indicated the Taliban have also shown inclination towards holding talks with CEO Abdullah.
During his presser, Abdullah also condemned the recent remarks by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, regarding the establishment of an interim government in Afghanistan. The CEO said no country has the right to interfere in Afghanistan’s domestic issues.
He stressed Pakistan must realize only Afghans have the right to decide about the future of their country.
