GHOR (SW) – The government is seeking to implement a solar energy project worth $ 11 million aimed at generating 5 megawatt of electricity in Ghor province.
However, the local civil society activist demand the government should not overlook the Puzlech Dam project in the backdrop of this new solar energy project. They assert the solar energy project is not sustainable, and it would not be able to meet the demands of the population.
Fazalul Haq Ehsan, chairman for the provincial council, told Salam Watandar he is struggling for the rights of the province together with the local population.
However, Abdul Hai Khatibi, spokesman for the provincial governor, said in this regard that the landmark solar energy project would address many needs of the local population, and it would also pave way for more development projects in the province.
Meanwhile, the locals are more inclined towards the Puzlech Dam, which according to them, would also help irrigate agriculture land in the province.
