GHAZNI CITY (SW): The Ajristan district in Ghazni province is under the siege of the Taliban since Friday, district governor informed on Saturday.
District governor, Hameedullah Hasebzoy, informed that many groups of armed Taliban attacked the district administration compound, police headquarters, and a number of check posts early on Friday. He confirmed 14 members of the security forces are killed, ten more are wounded while there is no connectivity with check posts.
The district governor expressed fears if additional troops are not dispatched to the area soon, Ajristan would fall to the Taliban.
Fareed Mashal, provincial police chief, said in this regard the Taliban from Helmand, Uruzgan and other areas have joined the rebels in Ghazni to stage these assaults. He claimed 27 rebels are killed and 13 more are wounded.
