GHAZNI CITY (SW): A colorful poetic evening was held in Ghazni on Saturday as part of the new lunar year celebrations.
Organized by the local Waqtfar civil society organization, the evening was attended by a number of local residents. It featured poetry sessions, theatrical performances, songs, traditional Mili Attan dance and much more.
Mohammad Arif Wahidi, deputy governor, said on the occasion that such social events are crucial in spreading happiness and promoting culture. This comes as resistance to such events is growing.
There have been instances where landmines have been placed on recreational spots where people used to gather for such cultural events. The officials vowed to have taken effective measures to ensure peace and security for the New Year events.
