The Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has urged the international community, particularly the Muslim world to exert pressure against the backers of the terrorists who are using terrorism as a mean of political pressure on other countries. “The terrorist groups under the slogan of Islam have once again ruthlessly killed people and committed war crimes, they have no knowledge of religious teachings”, he said.
The huge blast has severely damaged banks, a telecommunication firm, public and private properties, foreign embassies including the German, the Turkish and the Iranian ones.
The attack has been widely condemned. German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has said in a statement this attack hit civilians and those in Afghanistan who are working with people there to create better future for the country. India and Pakistan have also condemned it. Pakistan's foreign ministry on Wednesday said the blast has caused damage to the residences of some Pakistani diplomats and staff, living in the close vicinity, and inflicted minor injuries to some.
