Ghani: Taliban do not have much time to join peace process

KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani warned the Taliban for not having much time to join peace process on Sunday after the Eid-ul-Fitre prayer here in Kabul.

The President strongly warned the Taliban to either join government peace process or be overrun by the security forces. “Peace is our wish, but our conditions are clear to the armed groups who claim innocent lives every day. We are telling you clearly that you do not have much time if you are Afghan join the peace process or face your destruction”, warned President Ghani.

According to the speech by the President, he indicated that the Taliban’s supporters are alone while the Afghan government has the international support to fight terrorism.

President Ghani showed support to the victims and survivors of security forces and terrorist attacks. He also praised the security forces for their courage fighting the enemy.

This year’s Ramadan has been deadliest in 15 years, terrorist attacks have killed more than 231 people while injuring more than 810 others in Kabul, Herat, Paktia and Khost provinces.
