KABUL (SW) – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said Afghanistan has inched closer to peace unprecedentedly.
He said this addressing a ceremony at the presidency to mark the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). President said there is a concensus for peace in the country that can only be achieved when there is respect for justice among all. Ghani stressed for the sustainable peace, justice is pivotal.
He called upon warring sides to learn lesson from the life and deeds of the Prophet, and join the peace process. The President said pushing for continuation of war is against the core values of Islam.
A moot was also held at the office of Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah to mark the birdhtay of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
