KABUL (SW): Anwar ul-Haq Ahady, leader of the New National Front of Afghanistan said that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani is using government resources for his election campaign and his trips to provinces are “demagogic”.

Today at a conference announcing the existence of Peace, Justice and Freedom Movement of Afghanistan in Kabul, Ahady said that the government has violated the constitution by issuing decrees to appoint people in different posts and has been seeking to change the core system of governance in Afghanistan. Ahady called the National Unity Government an autonomous government and said this is worse than a dictatorship.

According to Ahady, distribution of paper national identity cards are difficult in three months, and the government has not provided an answer to this yet. He called on the political parties and movements to unite against demagogy of the government and abuse of government resources.

Rangin Dadfar Spanta, a former National Security Council Advisor, also said that the government is talking about holding the election while more than 50 percent of the country is under the control of Taliban and opposition groups.

Spanta added that “in the current system that leaders instinctively, systematically and emotionally lie to the public, the fair and free election is not possible”.

Spanta said that the terrorist groups have become more powerful than ever; however, the government has failed to defeat the supporters of the terrorist groups so far.

According to Spanta, giving privileges to terrorist groups and disregarding the constitution by the government is not peace but “surrender” to these groups.

We wanted to have the opinion of Arg on these, however, the officials at the office of the spokesperson for presiden refused to comment.

Recently, President Ghani has travelled to Herat, Paktia and Khost provinces and has inaugurated many projects. However, the critics of the government see this as preparing the ground for his next election on the pretext of the projects’ inauguration which in fact has already been completed.
