BAMYAN (SW) – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has inaugurated first phase of the Bamyan – Doshi highway.
Speaking on the occasion, the president said this highway would link central parts of Afghanistan with the Central Asia. Ghani also inaugurated three power distribution in Bamyan worth $ 80 million.
Yama Yari, minister for the Ministry of Public Works, said the highway would be completed in six phases. He noted the first phase costing $ 27 million would stretch for 25 kilometers. He said the rest of five phases are in the procurement process.
The minister said up to 28 mega road development projects are in the procurement process worth AFN 20 billion. He said among these include eight projects designed for the central parts of the country.
