KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held meetings with the presidents of Turkey and Kazakhstan on the sidelines of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Astana.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, interim spokesman for the Arg (Presidential Palace) told Salam Watandar President Ghani discussed bilateral ties, the new U.S. strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia, transit trade, and prospects for rail links with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Murtazawi said President Erdogan and President Nazarbayev welcomed the new U.S. strategy for Afghanistan. The spokesman informed that President Ghani discussed with the Turkish and Kazakh presidents the strategy of linking Afghanistan via Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with China via railway.
Ghani is scheduled to address the first two-day Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit on science and technology in Astana, Kazakhstan.
