KABUL (SW) – The Independent Election Complaint Commission on Thursday blamed President Ashraf Ghani and CE Abdullah Abdullah for using state resources for election campaign.
The electoral complaint commission issued a statement in this connection. It said President Ghani held the maiden election meeting of his ‘State Builder’ team at the government’s ‘Loya Jirga’ tent using state funds, resources and vehicles.
It also blamed CE Abdullah Abdullah for the same charges on a different venue, Oranus Wedding Hall, using state funds, resources and vehicles.
The statement added a number of government officials took part in these election meetings in clear violation of the election rules.
The IECC spokesman Mohammad Qasim Elyasi said on the occasion no election team can use the term such as prime minister and third deputy president, which are clear violations of the Constitution. He said the election teams have been sternly warned against undermining the rules and regulations.
