Georgian troops leave Afghanistan

KABUL (SW): After seven months of duty, the second group of Georgian troops also left Afghanistan and returned to their country.

These troops whose exact numbers are not clear, returned to Tbilisi Georgia by US military planes.

Levan Izoria, Minister of Defense of Georgia, Viladmirepipi Baya Attorney General of Georgia, Elizabeth Rood Deputy Chief of Mission US Embassy in Georgia, are the high ranking officials who had come to the airport to receive these soldiers.

These soldiers of the 13th Georgian Light Infantry Battalion have been providing security since seven months along with International Forces at Bagram Airport.

According to the sources, so far, one Georgian soldier has been killed and some wounded in the military operations in Afghanistan.

Previously, 155 Georgian troops left Afghanistan after completing the six months mission, and this was the second group, but so far the exact numbers of the Georgian soldiers are not known.
