KABUL (SW) – A private transport company in Kabul has charged the Kandahar police chief, Gen. Abdul Raziq, of taking away ten of its freshly imported armored vehicles in 2015.
Ali Mohammad Bafaiz, the transport company owner, told a press conference in Kabul that the men associated with Kandahar police chief confiscated ten of his armored vehicles each worth $ 120, 000 in 2015 in Kandahar. He said the police chief levelled false allegations of exporting these vehicles to Pakistan. He said the Arg (presidential palace), the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Council have not responded to his complaints in this regard.
He went on to charge the Kandahar police chief gifted two of these vehicles to the former president, Hamid Karzai, give away three to other people and have kept five of them for himself. Bafaiz vowed to take the matter to the International Court of Justice. He also threatened to stage widespread protests.
We wished to have the views of the Kandahar police chief, but to no avail.
