KABUL (SW): Kabul witnessed a deadly attack on Friday. The Daesh targeted a Shiite mosque in police district (PD) 11 of the capital. The Friday’s attack on the Shiite mosque is the 6th attack in the chain of Daesh attacks on the Shiites in Afghanistan.
Analysts believe that the proxy wars in the country are taking new aspect and Daesh (ISIS) is seeking revenge for its overseas defeats, in Afghanistan. These analysts insist that if the government does not roll up its sleeves to prevent such incident ‘disaster will occur’.
Salem Hassani, a theologian, told Salam Watandar that Afghanistan has always witnessed proxy wars, and now the terrorists targeting specific religious minorities indicate that proxy wars with a religious approach are emerging in Afghanistan.
He added that if terrorist attacks are not controlled, religious extremism will surge and ‘widespread religious wars will begin in the country’.
Kamal al-Din Hamed, another analyst, believes that the failure of Daesh in Syria by the Fatimids has led the group to seek revenge in Afghanistan. According to him, such events in the context of Afghanistan, instead of creating religious divisions, create empathy among the people of different sects.
The Friday’s incident has provoked sharp reactions of the citizens.
The government also in a statement called upon the world Ulema (religious scholars) for the condemnation of terrorist acts.
The Friday’s terrorist attack on the Shiite mosque in the capital, Kabul, was reflected in the social media. A number of Facebook users criticized the government and demanded security of the people.
