Friday s protest turns violent, 6 confirmed dead

KABUL (SW): Hundreds of protestor have poured to the streets of Kabul on Friday to protest against government’s negligence for the Wednesday’s deadly blast in Kabul.

The protestors demand the abdication of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah.

But, security forces are using force to control the protest. Witnesses from the scene of protest have said more than 10 protestors are dead and injured so far. Salem Izedyar, the son deputy speaker of Meshrano Jirga (upper house) is also among the dead in Friday’s protest.

Aasar Hakimi, a protestor, talking to Salam Watandar said it is not clear how many people are killed or injured in the protest. He added at least 6 protestors are dead and more than 10 are injured.

The protestors have gathered at the scene of Wednesday’s deadly blast in Kabul after the Friday prayer.
