Kabul (SW): As many as 1400 fresh officers joined various ranks of the Afghan National Army (ANA) as the trend to join the forces hits new high countrywide.
The fresh faces have completed their 10-months training course at the Military Academy here. The new ANA men have been especially trained for the artillery.
While addressing the graduation ceremony, Deputy Chief of Armed Forces Gen. Murad Ali Murad s.aid war has been imposed on Afghanistan by its neighbors but the brave soldiers would defend their country at every cost.
Brig. Gen. Aminullah Patyani, head of the Military Academy said on the occasion that the young officers would solidify the country’s defense against the enemies. “They would soon be deployed in various regiments where there is a need”, he said.
Habib Khan Ahsari, another officer at the Academy said the nation is behind its armed forces that boosts their moral on the fronts.
There has been a significant rise in the number of youngsters willing to join the armed forces. On the Independence Day, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed pride and delight on the fact that more youngsters were volunteering for the defense of their motherland.
