GHAZNI CITY (SW): Gen. Aminullah Amarkheyl, Police Chief in Ghazni, said that four helicopters have landed in an area which is under Taliban’s control in Mazid village in Ghazni.
Gen. Amarkheyl, in an exclusive Interview with SalamWatandar, said that according to some reports nearly 200 militants were tasked to ensure security of the area for the unidentified helicopters.
Amarkheyl said that the helicopters landed on Monday afternoon and it was not clear what was behind such landing.
He warned that if unidentified helicopters continued to land in the areas under Taliban’s control, it would pose great security threat to the country. He urged upon government to take action against it.
He added that such landing is not a new issue as a few days back several unidentified helicopters landed in Gilan district.
He further talked about Taliban’s incumbent governors yesterday morning and said that a number of them went to Pakistan, some to Ab Band district in Ghazni and a few to Maidan Wardak.
Taliban have yet to comment on this regard.
Amarkheyl expressed concerns over increasing insecurity and Taliban’s influence in Geroy district in Ghazni.
He said that despite the fact that they have thwarted Taliban’s offensives for taking control of the district, but their day to day influence in Geroy district has been a cause for concern.
