KABUL (SW) – At least four soldiers and a civilian got injured in Kabul in an apparent hand-grenade attack on the main highway to Jalalabad.
Nusrat Rahimi, spokesman for the interior ministry, said in a statement the incident took place close to the army’s training camp.
Fawad Amaan, the defense ministry spokesman, said unknown attackers threw hand-grenade at the first check point of the training center.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
This comes a day after John R. Bass, U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, announced the recent attacks in Kabul and Logar led to decision to reassess the pending transfer of three key Taliban leaders from prison. In a series of tweets, Ambassador Bass expressed support for President Ashraf Ghani’s announcement to release three Taliban prisoners to promote peace – and the decision to reassess their pending transfer following the attacks in Logar and Kabul on November 12 and 13.
