GHAZNI CITY (SW): Authorities in the southern Ghazni province have confirmed that the dead bodies found in Dasht-e-Esfande desert on Tuesday were ordinary citizens.
Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, Deputy Governor of Ghazni, said the men were abducted from the outskirts of Khogyani district by militants and were shot dead mid night. Ahmadi added 1 of the dead men was an engineer and the rest were ordinary citizens.
Baz Mohmmad Hemat, Head of Ghazni Hospital told SW that the dead bodies were brought to the hospital in the morning. Hassan Reza Yousufi, a member of Ghazni provincial council, confirmed the incident to SW via telephone. Yousufi said the victims were residents of Jaghori district of Ghazni province.
A security official wishing anonymity said the engineer was working in government’s construction projects.
