KABUL (SW): The Justice and Judicial Centre for Anti-Corruption (JJCAC) has sentenced former police chief of Helmand province to three years suspended imprisonment.
The former police chief Abdul Rahman Sarjang was declared guilty of charges of misuse of authority. Sher Aqa Muneeb, the judge of the JJCAC primary court, announced the verdict. He said the convict was found guilty of illegally releasing criminals, illegally appointing individuals in the police ranks and even stealing a car.
The convict has rejected the charges while pronouncing them as part of a political conspiracy against him.
