LASHKARGAH (SW) – Mohammad Yaseen Khan, governor of Helmand province, has confirmed the Taliban rebels and civilians got killed in a US aerial raid here last evening.
The governor did not shared details about the death toll, but claimed the raid was conducted when the rebels sought shelter in a residential house in the Garmsir district of the province.
In the meantime, a local resident told Salam Watandar the air raid targeted a house belonging to a local man, Haji Akhtar Mohammad, in the Zezery village of the district killing 17 people, including children.
The locals confirmed a clean-up operation against the rebels is also underway in the locality.
