KABUL (SW): The Afghan football star Mustafa Hadid got himself injured while playing for a club in the German state of Hamburg while the doctors have advised him to rest for at least ten months.
The injury has barred striker Hadid from featuring in any football action for at least a year. He was playing for the German club Altona 93. In an encounter against the opponent team, Hadid received a blow to his thigh from the defenders.
The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has asked the followers to pray for Mustafa Hadid’s speedy recovery.
The 27-year old Mustafa has been part of the Afghanistan’s national squad since 2008. So far, Mustafa Hadid has featured in 20 international encounters for the national team. Hadid managed to score a goal each against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in latest encounters.
Due to a previous injury, he also missed a World Cup 2018 qualifying match against Singapore that was played in Tehran, Iran.
Afghanistan lost this match 2 to 1. Mustafa Hadid’s has inked a contract with the Altona 93 in Hamburg, Germany that would need a renewal at the end of this month.
