KABUL (SW): Palestine has approached Afghanistan for hosting their international match against Syria.
The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) said in a communiqué that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has been consulted in regard to hosting Palestine’s international match against Syria. It has mentioned that the Palestine Football Association (PFA) has sent a formal request in this regard.
The AFF has expressed profound optimism about this letter proving Afghanistan’s mettle in football. It went on to say that the move, if materialized, would not only enhance bilateral sports ties between the two nations, it would also lift Afghanistan’s image in sports. Palestine’s request to play their international matches in Afghanistan has come at a time when Afghanistan itself is hosting its international matches in neighboring Iran.
The AFF has confidently expressed its willingness to host Palestine’s international encounter against Syria in Kabul.
It is vital to note that it was 2012 when last time Afghanistan hosted an international football match. In this match against Pakistan, the home team emerged victorous with a 3-0 score.
