KABUL (SW): Officials at the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), has said that due to torrential rains in a number of provinces across the country over the past month, 108 people have lost lives while dozens more have been injured.
Mohamad Aslam Seyas, Deputy Head for the ANDMA, told Salam Watandar that as a result of floods across the country, 1887 houses have been damaged.
He said that the floods have damaged hundreds acres of lands in various parts of the country.
He added that the affected families have received assistances but he didn’t specify the amount of assistances allocated for the victims. He further said that ANDMA is prepared in all provinces to offer assistances for those who have been affected.
It is worth noting that ANDMA has always been criticized by the flood stricken residents for its poor performance and not delivering aid at the earliest.
