ASADABAD (SW) – At least 11 people got killed and many homes got destroyed as floods caused by torrential rain caused havoc in Kunar province.
Gul Mohammad Bedaar, deputy governor, informed Salam Watandar the Ghazi Abad district of the province is particularly affected where 11 people, including eight members of a single family, got killed in rain and flood related incidents. He vowed urgent rescue and relief operation has been launched.
Eight homes are completely destroyed, 15 more homes damaged and significant number of livestock killed due to the floods, officials informed.
Two residents of the affected area, Hayauddin Ehsas and Irfan, informed SW that they have not received any help and support so far. The floods have also damaged agriculture land, bridges and canals in the area.
Last month, similar floods killed six children in the Sarkano district of the province.
