KABUL (SW): Faysal Shayesteh, captain of Afghanistan’s national football team, has joined Thailand’s Lampang F.C. for the South Asian country’s domestic league.
The Afghanistan Football Federation has announced Shayesteh has inked one-year contract with the Lampang F.C. and is currently in Thailand for the matches. The attacking midfielder would join this club at a time when it is struggling on the domestic front at ninth rank.
Prior to Shayesteh, his country-mate Mustafa Azadzoy had joined Chiangmai Football Club, another Thai professional football club based in Chiang Mai Province.
Both are set to face each other in September 08 this year when their respective clubs would face each other in line with their domestic fixtures.
The AFF has announced the news of Shayesteh joinoing Lampang F.C. on his 27th birthday.
Faysal Shayesteh has been with the national team of Afghanistan since 2014, and has so far represented his country in international matches against Kuwait, Turkmenistan, Lavos, Syria, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka. He has seven goals to his credit.
Faysal Shayesteh has not played a single game for Afghanistan since May 2015.
