Family members of Daesh fighters surrender in Achin

JALALABAD (SW) –  At least 93 family members of the pro-Daesh militants have surrendered to the government in Nangarhar province, officials announced on Tuesday.

Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, said the incident took place in the restive Achin district of the province. He said among these people include four men while the rest are women and children. He added the process of the surrendering is an ongoing one, and the final number of Daesh militants surrendering to the government forces would only be known later.

Among those surrendering also included 13 Pakistani citizens.

A well-placed government source told Salam Watandar the Daesh insurgents have asked their fighters to leave Nangarhar province.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry said in a statement that a Daesh fighter along with 32 women and 13 children has surrendered in Achin.
