TALUQAN (SW) – At least four members of family in Takhar province have been admitted at a local public hospital over tenacious hunger caused by crippling poverty.
The locals of Kalafkan brought these four members of a single family to the public hospital here after they suffered severe hunger for four back-to-back days. Among them include a husband and a wife, and two of their daughters.
Muneer Azizi, head of the public hospital in Takhar, told Salam Watandar all four of these people are faced with acute malnutrition, and the parents in this family are also facing mental disorder.
According to the locals, this family is extremely poor, and has no means of support either.
Jawad Hijri, spokesman for the provincial governor, said in this regard a team has been tasked to look into this matter.
After publication of this news, residents in Takhar gathered up to AFN 80,000 for the support of this needy family.
