JALALABAD (SW) – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said families of pro-Daesh insurgents from Pakistan would only be returned to their relevant tribes across the Durand Line.
Addressing a moot in Jalalalabad, he said dedicated funds have been earmarked to ensure education and reintegration of the children along with the Daesh militants who recently surrendered to the government here. He added these people would be dealt with in line with the Islamic and Afghan norms.
He added the Nangarhar people – who suffered the most due to Daesh – would decide about the fate of the militants associated with this group. President Ghani hailed cooperation and coordination among the local population and the security forces in defeating Daesh in Nangarhar.
The President said the local anti-Daesh militia would be merged in the security forces. He stressed measures would be ensured to improve security in Hisarak and Sherzad districts.
