KU forms fact-finding commission to probe suicide of Zahra Khawar
KABUL (SW): The Kabul University (KU) has formed a fact-finding commission to look into the case of suicide committed by a female student of the Veterinary Medicine faculty.
Hameedullah Faruqi, Chancellor of the KU, told a press conference in this connection today that the suicide of Zahra Khawari is a criminal matter. He added that the fact-finding commission would thoroughly investigate all aspects of the case, and share its findings with the media.
The KU Chancellor noted the committee comprising of academic figures has been formed alongside the investigations by the delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and officials from the legal and investigations units to probe the matter. Faruqi underlined fundamental measures have been taken to bring reforms in the KU. He mentioned three staff members and five students have been suspended recently for violating the code of conduct.
