NANGARHAR (SW): Today (Friday) around 1 pm, an explosion inside a mosque in Mohmand Dara district of Nangarhar killed 1 and injured 8 people. The explosives were placed inside the mosque. The explosion occurred when the Friday prayer was held. The Mullah Imam of the mosque lost his life and eight worshippers were wounded according to the eyewitnesses.
Mohammad Naseem, Mayor of Mohmand Dara district, in a conversation with Salam Watandar, said that the incident occurred in Hazarnaw area of Mohmand Dara district in Nangarhar.
Atta Ullah Khogyani, spokesperson for Governor of Nangarhar province, also confirmed this incident, but did not provide any details.
Inamullah Miakheil, a press director for Directorate of Health in Nangarhar, said that until now, one dead and eight wounded have been taken to the hospitals from the incident location.
According to Miakheil, the wounded were not in critical condition.
So far, no group has taken the responsibility for this incident.
