KABUL (SW): Independent Election Commission (IEC) reports on restarting the evaluation and determination of polling stations in the country.

The Independent Election Commission officials revealed at a news conference here in Kabul on Monday that in order to hold transparent and fair parliamentary and district councils elections the Commission has restarted to evaluate and determine the polling stations.

According to the IEC officials, the work starts on Monday by 1 thousand employees and will finish within 45 days.

Imam Mohammad Warimach, the chairman of IEC secretariat, told the presser that the program will first be implemented in the provincial centers and then in the districts, and all polling centers will be established in schools, health centers, and other government entities. “These centers are being studied and selected on the basis of population density, geographical location, and other criteria in order to ensure that all citizens of the country can equally take part in the elections”, informed Warimach.

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials call on the government and the people to cooperate with the commission in conducting transparent elections in the country so that insecure provinces are not deprived of this process.
