KABUL (SW) – Analysts believe some elements within the system of governance continue to lure others to conspire with Russia and Iran.
In conversation with Salam Watandar, former intelligence officer, Kabul Khan Tadbeer, said there are elements within the system who convinced Moscow and Tehran to collaborate with the Taliban for the sake of confronting Daesh. He said Daesh is supported by Pakistan in a bid to advance its strategic agenda in Afghanistan.
This comes as Afghanistan has urged Moscow on multiple occasions to support the Kabul government against the militants instead of supporting the Taliban.
Former head of the secret service, NDS, Rehmatullah Nabil, is also on record saying elements exist within the system who are forwarding foreign agendas, and the Taliban has support form Moscow and Tehran. He claimed a written agreement is there guaranteeing Iran’s support for the Taliban in the wake of threat from Daesh.
Mohammad Hassan Haqyar, another expert on security affairs, said such elements are serving at higher posts, and their views are given importance internally and abroad.
We wished to have the views of the government, but to no avail.
This comes amid persistent reports of the Taliban receiving support from Iran and Russia.
