KABUL (SW): In line with the World Post Day, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology announced that efforts are underway to lift this crucial service in the country.
In a ceremony to mark the day, Razaq Wahidi, the minister for Communication and Information Technology said that the postal services are faced with a number of challenges in the country. He added insecurity, lack of awareness in the society about the importance of postal services and other issues are the main challenges in this regard.
The minister announced that for the development of postal services, the World Bank together with a number of other donor countries has vowed to pay $ 10 million to the MoCaIT by the end of 2017.
According to the ministry, there are some 463 post offices around the country.
