PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW) – Teachers in Baghlan province have blamed two officials at the directorate of education over embezzlement of millions of afghanis.
Two such teachers, Sultan Mohammad and Ghulam Sarwar, informed the director for education and the accountant at the directorate of education in the Baraki district, have not paid teachers and other academic staff their salaries for the past six months.
A teacher in the Baraki district, Bismillah, said in this regard the provincial administration and the directorate of education have paid no attention to repeated complaints about this matter.
However, Lailema Faqiri, head of the directorate of education, has clarified a fact-finding team has been sent to Baraki distirct.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the accused, Mohammad Jalil, district director for education, but his family members informed he has not returned home for the past three days.
