KABUL (SW): The First Vice President, General Abdul Rashid Dostum, has made it clear that despite difference of opinion with the government, he would not distance himself from the government.
The VP said this at the gathering of his National Islamic Movement Party here on Thursday.
A number of social media users have recently posted comments about the tension and indifference between the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his deputy. Based on it, the Vice President has warned about distancing himself from the government.
The Vice President however, has denied these rumors and said that he would not distance from the government. He urged upon his supporters to be patient and assured that the problems would be solved in the short-term.
He added that during the Presidential Election campaigns, he had promised to find jobs for the youth, but he has not managed to keep those promises so far. The Vice President further said that he would do his best to meet those challenges. He said the government cannot currently establish the new ministry for the youth affairs.
According to media reports, Gen. Dostum has asked the government to ensure decent representation of Turkmen community in the government besides forming a new force to combat terrorism and establish a new ministry of youth affairs.
