KABUL (SW): The First Vice President Abdul Rasheed Dostum has complained that the President and his power sharing Chief Executive Officer have deprived him of his due share in the government.
Dostum’s comments were aired by a number of media outlets as he spoke to them in the northern Faryab province on Sunday. He said that the two leaders of the Government of National Unity have shared the power between the two. The VP added that their camp was ready to play the role of effective opposition had Abdullah Abdullah won the elections.
He went on to say that the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police have gone politicized, and even the district police chiefs are appointed based on political affiliations. Dostum charged that the leaders of the Government of National Unity are too busy in dividing power between the two rather than serving the nation.
About the security situation in the country, the VP said Pakistan’s notorious spy agency ISI has influence across Afghanistan that is used to fuel insurgency and insecurity.
