KABUL (SW): In regard to a brazen militant attack in Kabul that left scores of people dead and wounded, the Presidential Palace (Arg) has made it clear that elements bent on destruction would be dealt with iron hand while doors for peace will always remain open for those renouncing violence.
Dawa Khan Minapaal, Deputy Spokesman for the President, told Salam Watandar on Thursday that the Kabul government is committed for durable peace and efforts are underway to achieve it via the ongoing Quadrilateral Coordination Group (QCG) that comprises of Afghanistan, the U.S. China and Pakistan. He said that efforts for peace are based on fundamental principles and nothing would be compromised in this perspective.
He lamented that the insurgents waging terror in Afghanistan continue to have the backing of elements in Pakistan’s intelligence set-up.
Jawed Faisal, Deputy Spokesman for the Chief Executive Office, said while commenting on the situation that the Taliban have always opted for fighting rather than peace talks. Tawab Ghorzang, Spokesman for National Security Council, too emphasized on eliminating those who fight against the citizens in the country.
