KABUL (SW): Jawid Faisal, deputy spokesman for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said that Abdullah Abdullah, the CEO and Sarwar Danish, 2nd Vice President (VP) to the President had a joint meeting regarding the distribution of biometric identification cards (IDs).
According to the deputy spokesman for the CEO, the distribution of electronic IDs will soon start and the trial phase will be for 6 months. “In the first quarter of the 6 months trial phase, 10 centers for the distribution electronic IDs will be established at the Capital. 5 centers will be located in ministries”, added Faisal.
He further added that towards the end of the trial phase, the centers will reach 10 in numbers.
The distribution of biometric identification cards is one of the important agreement points on which both the President and CEO of the country had agreed, but with the passage of more than 2 years since the inception of National Unity Government the distribution of the IDs has been halted over the disagreement on printing the ‘ethnicity’ word in the IDs.
