TALOQAN (SW): A clash between gunmen and locals in Warsaj district of Takhar province left 10 people injured.

The locals said that the gunmen affiliated with Ibrahim Begzad, the head of provincial police intelligence directorate, had opened fire with military equipment on the locals in support of his nephew in this feud.

According to the locals, Sayed Dawood, the nephew of the provincial police intelligence director, wanted to usurp 10 acres of state-owned land by using his uncle’s influence.

Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, the provincial police chief, confirming the incident said Ibrahim Begzad’s men opened fire on the locals.

But, Ibrahim Begzad while rejecting the allegations told Salam Watandar that the had no involvement in this matter.

This is not the first time when the locals in Warsaj and Sayed Dawood have had disagreements with each other, but the incidents had never escalated this far.
