KABUL (SW) – Protest demonstrations were held in a number of cities in Afghanistan on Tuesday against the extra-judicial killing of a rights activists in Pakistan.
The demonstrations in Kabul, Nangarhar, Kunar, Mazar-e-Sharif, Paktika, Khost and a number of other cities were held on the call of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement following the killing of one of its leaders Arman Lwani in Baluchistan last week. Similar demonstrations were held in a number of cities around the world.
Arman’s sister Wranga Lwani is also an active member of the PTM.
Protesters in Kunar and Jalalabad condemned the killing of the PTM leader, and demanded the government in Pakistan to stop extra-judicial killings. They charged the Islamabad government for denying the rights of the Pashtunes for the past 70 years.
Similar slogans were chanted in a demonstration in Khost by hundreds of protesters. They said Pashtuns have been demanding their rights peacefully, but the government in Pakistan has always used force against them.
This comes as the PTM just completed one year of its existence under the leadership of Manzoor Pashteen.
