Delegation to negotiate between protesters and the government

KABUL (SW): The Wolesi Jirga (lower house) in Monday’s session approved with majority votes decision to appoint a 34 member delegation for the negotiations between the protesters in Kabul and the National Unity Government (NUG).

The house stressed that under the prevailing critical situation in the country, it is pivotal for the NUG and the protesters to reach some sort of agreement. Fazia Nasrat, a member of the WJ, said it is the duty of the Wolesi Jirga to end the current predicaments in the country.

Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, the speaker of the house, said the delegation will be tasked to negotiate with the protesters as well as relevant international organizations in order to find a proper solution. He asked the representatives of all 34 provinces to select one member for the formation of the delegation as soon as possible.
