KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Interior and the Kabul Municipality on Sunday joined hands against land-grabbing and violations of rules in construction sector.
Massoud Andarabi, minister for the Ministry of Interior and Zaki Sarfaraz, Kabul mayor, inked the agreement that would see the establishment of a 409-member dedicated force for this purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, Andarabi said this agreement means no policemen or other MoI employees would have any right to interfere in these affairs except the 409-member dedicated force under the guidance of the municipality.
Mayor Sarfaraz said on his term that there is a need for proper implementation of the urban plan in a bid to ensure sustainable development.
Based on the Kabul Municipality figures, an estimated 70 per cent tall buildings in the city are erected in violations of the rules and regulations.
